Brent Vine lectures on the origins of the Roman alphabet at Hokkaido University

Brent Vine, Professor Emeritus of Classics and Indo-European Studies, will give a lecture titled “The Real Background of the So-Called ‘Roman’ Alphabet” at the SRC Seminar History Meets Linguistics II, hosted by the Slavic-Eurasian Research Center at Hokkaido University (Room 403 and online), on Friday, September 25, 2026, 16:00 to 17:15 JST (12:00 to 1:15 am Pacific, 3:00 to 4:15 am Eastern). The seminar also features a lecture by Olga T. Yokoyama (UCLA).
